Prom season is right around the corner and the last thing a girl wants to think about during the current economy is the cost of her dress. That’s where the Princess Project comes in. The Princess Project, a Bay Area non-profit group, is giving away free prom dresses and accessories at events on March 13th in Oakland and March 20th in San Francisco. The Princess Project welcomes all high school girls who are in financial need of a prom dress to attend one of the events and choose one dress and one accessory from thousands of colors, sizes, and designers. In order to receive a dress and accessory you must bring a high school I.D. Go to Princessproject.org for more information. In its ninth year, The Princess Project is a 100 percent volunteer-run effort that promotes self-confidence and individual beauty by providing free prom dresses and accessories to high school girls who could not otherwise afford them. The Princess Project collects new and “nearly new” formal dresses and accessories from women, girls, and companies, and distributes them free of charge to teens at fun-filled events in the spring in San Francisco, East Bay, Silicon Valley and San Diego.
