Man Accidentally Shoots Himself In the Head, To Prove That a Movie Character Didn't Shoot Himself In the Head Properly

At around 2:50 A.M. on Friday morning, 43-year-old James Gagum of Conway, South Carolina was watching a movie with a few friends.

--Exactly what movie they were watching wasn't released.  But it's one that features a character killing himself by shooting himself in the head.  James didn't like the scene, and told his friends, quote, "that's not how it's done."

--And to SHOW them how it's done, he picked up HIS gun.  We can ONLY assume he didn't think it was loaded.  But it was.  So when he put it to his head to demonstrate proper "shooting yourself in the head" form, it WENT OFF.

--James was pronounced dead by paramedics on the scene.  The police ruled the shooting accidental.

--Two years ago, James shot and killed a man who'd broken into his house.  That was ruled to be self-defense.  It's not clear if he used the same gun.
