The "Chicago Tribune" says that COOLIO is auctioning off his music to launch a new career . . . in COOKING.
Coolio has actually been working at this for a while. He was on Food Network's "Celebrity Cook-Off" . . . and then he became a "New York Times" bestselling-author with his 2009 book, "Cookin' with Coolio".
Supposedly, Coolio wants the cash from the song catalog sale to "expand his cookbook series, and his online cooking show of the same name."
The auction is happening on August 28th, and it runs through the following day. The bidding will start at $140,000. This is for his full catalog of 123 songs, including "Gangsta's Paradise" and "1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin' New)".
Coolio hasn't commented on the sale. But he recently Tweeted, quote, "There's only one thing that I've been doing longer than rapping: Cooking."
