The good news: the country’s jobs are growing, rather than shrinking. In fact, according to Indeed.com, an international job statics aggregator, “The job posting growth of 2010 continued through 2011. In December, employers advertised 50% more jobs online than a year prior.”

The bad news: It’s hardly a nation-wide trend.

As with most aspects of economics in American today, job growth is a highly stratified phenonenon. For while some parts of the nation made the Forbes top ten “easiest places to find a job,” the other end of the spectrum hasn’t enjoyed much relief.

In fact, U.S. Labor statistics show dismal job opportunities in several large metropolitan areas.
