The Humane Society said coats from Century 21 tested positive, meaning the faux fur is actually raccoon dog fur.

Everyone knows faux fur is designed to replace actual animal fur being used for fashion.

Designer Marc Jacbos designed the jackets that are being sold at Century 21 department stores. However looks can be decieving and that "faux fur" you think is a replacement for real animal fur is indeed racoon dog fur!

Even if the labels say otherwise, the “faux fur” garments sold by the retailer are made with the fur of cuddly Chinese raccoon dogs, a breed that’s often skinned alive for its soft coat.

Tests indicated the fur on the “Marc by Marc Jacobs” coats indeed came from the raccoon dog.

Fashion expert Phillip Bloch stated:

“He’s a good guy; he’s philanthropic, he cares,” said Bloch. “It’s upsetting to anyone to have that story come out. But Marc didn’t go out and kill the raccoon dogs.”
