In a history making moment President Joey B. announced that Student Loan Debt would be forgiven for all students whose income in 2020 or 2021 was below $125K for individuals and below $250K for households. You should also know by now that the amount that you can have forgiven is up to $10K for most students and up to $20K for students who received a Pell Grant. According to the Department of Education's most recent update - students who meet these requirements should look for a short application to hit the Federal Student Aid website this month. Once it becomes avail, fill it out, no supporting documents will need to be uploaded and you should be all set. Remember this will be based on your income so if the Department of Education already has this info you may not need to update it. Either way you can sign up to stay on top of theses alerts, so you can get yourself in for the debt relief once the application is open! You'll have until December 2023 to apply. In the meantime, the student loan repayment pause is still in place through 12/31/22.
