Residents from San Francisco's Marina District are fed up with crime in their neighborhood and decided to hire private security to roam the streets.

Alan Byard, a patrol officer, circles the streets overnight to look for any suspicious activity in the Marina. He says his clients have increased from 70 to 150 since the pandemic began. Byard explains, “It’s a nice area down here, people are afraid of what’s been going on,” said Byard. “They want a safe place to raise their kids," according to CBS.

Crime in San Francisco has reportedly increased over 700% since May of 2020.
